Did you get resistance for your career choice? I have not had resistance from anyone about my nursing career choice. I think it’s because more and more people are realizing the beauty and opportunities that nursing offers.
Do you think school counselors adequately promote nursing to boys as a career option? I think that high school counselors could do a better job, however at the college level I definitely see support in promoting nursing to male students.

Do you find that patients accept nurses who are men? I find patients to be very accepting. I think some patients are surprised when they see a male nurse walk into the room, but once the relationship is established I have not heard of any issues.
Advice to men entering the nursing field: Nursing is a great field for everyone! Many people find this career to be rewarding and are very pleased that they went through the necessary sacrifices to earn their license.
Final thoughts: Nursing is a progressive, promising career and both men and women should be a part of it!
