Volunteer Workgroups

The American Nurses Association is now convening three workgroups to review and revise the ANA’s scope and standards of practice for correctional nursing, nursing informatics and public health nursing. These workgroups will be responsible for preparing updated second editions of these important documents.  Workgroup members will work remotely, with twice-monthly conference calls and individual writing assignments.

To join a workgroup, you must be an ANA member in good standing with demonstrated expertise in the applicable specialty area. You must also be able to commit to the full 18-month duration of the project, which will begin later this summer and continue into early 2020.  This is a volunteer position, but you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a profound and lasting contribution to your specialty area that will affect other nurses across the U.S.

How to Apply

You can find more information and the electronic application form in the Practice & Policy section of the ANA website, www.nursingworld.org, under “Scope of Practice.” The application deadline is Wednesday, July 18.
