Be part of a global movement to make cities healthier! This year’s campaign is "1,000 cities — 1,000 lives" and focuses on urbanization and health. Events will be organized during the week of April 7–11 with the goal of opening public spaces to health and illustrating what urban health champions are doing in their communities around the globe.

Seminar content includes venous anatomy and physiology, vein identification, criteria for vein selection, device and gauge selection, complications, legal aspects, documentation and the venipuncture procedure using a safety IV catheter. The Infusion Nurses Society 2006 Standards of Practice and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2002 Intravascular Guidelines are also incorporated into this program. Participants must attend this class in its entirety to earn eight contact hours of continuing nursing education from Perivascular Nurse Consultants, Inc. Instructional materials and a continental breakfast are also provided.

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Training (SAFE/SANE)

This five-day training course will focus on the fundamental forensic examination techniques for adolescent and adult victims of sexual assault. It meets the International Association of Forensic Nurses National Standards and Guidelines for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners. It is suggested that participants for the training have at least one year of recent clinical experience in an acute care environment, preferably in the ER or OB/GYN setting. This course is only open to RNs with an active and unrestricted license, nurse practitioners and MDs.
