The Riverside County Regional Medical Center's Department of Psychiatry currently has an opening for a House Supervisor. The positions will be responsible for overseeing the operation of our psychiatric facility and maintaining quality patient care. The current opening is for the evening (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) shift. All candidates must have a current RN license in the State of California, three years of nursing experience in an acute care setting, and charge nurse experience.
Examples Of Duties:
• Assist in determining staffing needs; responsible for staffing decisions, as well the scheduling and evaluations of float personnel; Assist in monitoring performance of nursing units and nursing services and in identifying the training and development needs of staff.
• Maintain bed control by determining and verifying bed assignments; Evaluate utilization of personnel, supplies, equipment and physical facilities for optimum effectiveness and working conditions.
• Make effective rounds throughout the hospital to observe patient care, environmental conditions and general atmosphere; Respond to situations involving patients, unit, staff and visitors and provide a resolution.
• Monitor compliance to hospital policies, rules and regulations and document and communicate noncompliance to appropriate personnel.
• Interpret and support philosophies and policies of the nursing division to hospital personnel; Collaborate with other departments to insure continuity of patient care.
• Serve as a liaise between Administrator-On-Call and external agencies; Consult with Director of Nursing Services or other Administrative representative concerning matters that require immediate attention beyond their scope of authority.
Qualifications
Education: Possession of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from a recognized college is preferred.
Experience: Three years of progressively responsible nursing experience on the nursing staff of an accredited acute care hospital which included one year in a supervisory capacity.
