RN Care Management Supervisor - FT - 2096A

Job Description

The CM Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the CM clinical and non-clinical staff daily work and activities including but not limited to ensuring proper staffing and coverage, and assist in monitoring and evaluating departmental operations to assure optimal efficiency and effectiveness. The position also assists in triaging identified issues/problems and forming resolution within scope of work. Escalates appropriate issues to CM Manager.

The CM Supervisor is responsible in assisting in developing a successful and cohesive unit, with high level of productivity and accuracy to achieve the department's overall performance metrics.

The position supports the CM Manager.The position also assists CM Manager in identification of training needs including but not limited to assisting in the development of programs, training materials, competency checklists, and orientation checklists necessary to meet educational needs of CM staff. Responsible for training and cross-training new staff.

CM Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all functions are operating in accordance with the organization's mission, values and strategic goals, which are focused on continuous improvement; and are provided in a manner that is responsive and sensitive to the needs of LA Care's culturally diverse membership.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Required: Registered Nurse (RN); Current and unrestricted CA RN License

EXPERIENCE

Required: At least 5 years of experience in managed Care (Medicare, Medi-Cal and other LOB); case management, authorization processes and/or claims or equivalent relevant experience; 2 years supervisory/lead experience or equivalent relevant experience, direct or indirect. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy with proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access and core departmental systems. Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.

Preferred: Knowledge of L.A. Care core computer system.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Preferred: Bilingual in one of LA Care Health Plan’s threshold languages:  English, Spanish, Chinese, Armenian, Arabic, Farsi, Khmer, Korean, Russian, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Korean
