RN First Assistant - FT AM/PM - Loma Linda

Job Description

The RN First Assistant (RNFA) for robotic surgical procedures performs first assistant duties for adult patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room at Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) and LLU Heart and Surgical Hospital as specified in the designated standardized procedure. Practices under the direct supervision of the surgeon who has privileges in robotic-assisted surgery and in accordance with designated standardized procedures. Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Associate degree in Nursing required. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. One year experience as registered nurse in a clinical setting similar to assigned area required. Active California Registered Nurse license required. Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification required. Basic Life Support Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required.
