Qualifications
To qualify as a University of Phoenix faculty member, you must meet the following minimum criteria:
Have a master’s or doctoral degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution (or international equivalent) related to the subject you wish to teach. Some courses require a doctoral degree or more specific qualifications.
Have work experience related to the subject you wish to teach. Requirements may vary by course and program.
Health care and nursing faculty must meet specific requirements, depending on the courses they teach. Program-specific qualifications are as follows:
School Nursing
Graduate degree in nursing
Professional license
Current experience as a school nurse
Experience in a pediatric clinical practice
Community Health
Graduate degree in nursing or public health
Experience teaching community/public health at the baccalaureate or graduate level
Experience conducting community health assessments with aggregate populations
Public health care experience
Clinical experience with families, community health, or state, local or county experience in public health practice (acute care nurses do not qualify)
