Nurse Education Specialist

Job Details: The Education Specialist manages one or more educational programs under the direction of the Senior Education Manager and Director. This position will primarily manage diabetes education programs.

The specialist conducts needs assessments and develops and implements education programs according to the needs of departments and service lines. The Education Specialist will develop, administer, and sustain hospital-wide educational programs by directing and efficiently utilizing resources to meet organizational goals. The Education Specialist will participate in independent and collaborative research activities that support goals, identify quality improvement areas, and address staff development issues in both clinical and non-clinical areas. This position is classified as exempt.

Qualifications

BSN or BS/BA in related field required.

MSN or MS/MA in related field highly preferred.

Minimum 3 years in acute care hospital with medical/surgical and diabetes education highly preferred.

Licensing / Certification Required :
Current CA RN license required
BLS CPR certification required
Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) highly preferred.
