The incumbent provides coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge.

Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team providing leadership personal/professional development and conducting him/herself professionally.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• One (1) year labor and delivery experience as an RN required in an acute care setting.
• Associates Degree, Nursing (ADN)
• Current California RN license 
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Current ACLS and NRP certifications required within 3 months of hire (American Heart Association)
• Basic AWHONN fetal monitoring acceptable at hire, but must complete the Intermediate AWHONN course within 6 months hire
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course every two years thereafter or obtain NCC Fetal Monitoring Certification and maintain as specified

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) year Labor and delivery C/Section/PACU, OBED, Postpartum/Newborn Nursery Unit experience
