• Plan and conduct a variety of in-service orientation programs and educational programs for caregivers throughout Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center to meet competency assessment requirements in conformance with departmental objectives and accreditation standards. 
• Coordinate educational programs for an assigned service line – Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby Care Unit; serve as internal consultant for specialized clinical instruction. 
• Assess educational needs of the learner and develop plans for learning experiences appropriate for meeting recognized needs; evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and make recommendations for program content revision. 

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• Graduate from an accredited Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma Program.

Preferred Education:

• MSN or Masters in a related Healthcare discipline is preferred.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

• 5 years of clinical experience in maternal and child care; 
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to work in a union environment.

Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Nursing may be substituted for two years of required experience.
• Minimum three years of applied clinical experience in a health related field or as a Clinical Educator or Instructor.
• NRP Instructor 
• AWHONN Instructor 
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to work in a union environment.
• Baby-Friendly Designation Experience

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:

• Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment).
• Current CA RN License
• NRP
• BLS
• ACLS
