Reporting to the Manager of OR/PACU/GI/ASC, this position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and providing high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process.

• Maintains current competencies and skill levels required for work/specialty area.
• Participates in quality and performance improvement programs.            
• Orients, and trains assigned personnel and students.                              
• Provides direction to other members of the patient care team to coordinate all aspects of a nursing unit/department for assigned shift.  
• Assesses effectiveness of direction given and problem solves issues regarding patient care.                           
• Knowledgeably administers IV’s and medications per protocol/policy, observing and documenting patient’s response.  Verifies patient’s identity/ID band before treatments and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year recent experience in a critical care setting preferred   
• One (1) year recent experience in an operating room setting preferred
