Job Description

Nurse Practitioners perform a vital role in Huntington Health Physicians' commitment to deliver effective and efficient quality health care services to its patients. The Nurse Practitioner will be working with a growing team and will be responsible to provide comprehensive services primarily in medical office, up to and including consultative service, and occasionally in hospital. A

Nurse Practitioner's practice incorporates both independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with the board certified/eligible physician to provide expert care to the patients. This role enhances competency skills through continuing education programs. This role has the ability to provide care to special patient population and those with diverse cultural background.

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible to the physician partners and/or supervising physician. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• Master of Science Degree in Nursing required.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner; outpatient setting preferred; experience with EHR preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
• Current unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) with Furnishing License issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
• Current National Provider Number (NPI) issued by Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number issued by DEA
• Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association

Preferred:

• Current Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN-S)
