RN Coordinator, Wound/Ostomy Management – Surgery Clinic

To provide quality care, expert consultation, and care coordination for patients with ostomy, wound, or continence care needs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Serves as a resource/consultant for the Colorectal Surgery department regarding skin/wound, continence, and ostomy management. Conducts and participates in research focused on skin/wound, continence, and ostomy management across varied patient populations.
Collects, compiles, and interprets data on patients with skin/wound, continence, and ostomy issues to optimize outcomes and meet patient needs. Develops, coordinates, delivers and /or evaluates skin/wound, continence, and ostomy educational activities for the Colorectal team, patients, and family members. Leads outcome-based approach to patient care by insuring evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary care delivery.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a state approved School of Registered Nursing.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid California Registered Nurse License.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) – Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association required
- Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association preferred.
- CWOCN OR CWON certification preferred. If no certificate upon hire, one must obtain within 12 months of hire, and maintain renewal.
- Los Angeles City Fire and Safety Training. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintain renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
