The RN Oncology Nurse Navigator is responsible for the coordination of newly diagnosed cancer patients, acting as a liaison between patients, families, community, and physicians. Additionally, the RN Oncology Nurse Navigator is accountable for coordinating care for patients as part of a multidisciplinary team of physicians, registered nurses and/or ancillary department personnel involved with cancer patients at Saddleback Medical Center.
Furthermore, the position the RN Oncology Nurse Navigator will provide cancer patients and families with information addressing their concerns, including but not limited to financial, social services, education, treatment options and access to clinical trials.
- Experience: Minimum three (3) years- experience in oncology nursing preferred.Previous oncology nurse navigation experience highly desirable.Working knowledge of insurance coverage preferred.Computer software experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point required.Electronic health record program experience preferred.
- Education: Current State of California RN license requiredBSN or MSN Degree required or enrollment in BSN program within one from date of hire.OCN preferred or starting in 2021 must show proof of 20 oncology CEUs in oncology, each year. ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification required within one year of hire.Current AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate required
