The Preschool Services Department (PSD) is recruiting for Supervising Case Management Nurse who supervises Registered Nurses and Program staff in delivering services in the health program; makes home visits to evaluate situations and assess health; counsels on nutrition, safety, personal hygiene and child care; teaches and demonstrates nursing practices to family members; guides clients in setting attainable health care goals; and performs other administrative duties. The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur throughout the County.
- LICENSE: Must possess a valid/active license as a Registered Nurse issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- CERTIFICATION: Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- EXPERIENCE: Must possess three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience as a registered nurse in a public health department, health service provider, or community-based health organization, which includes at least one (1) year of experience supervising subordinate medical staff.
- SUBSTITUTION: Possession of a completed/awarded Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in health science, health care administration, school health, nursing, or other health related field may substitute for one (1) year of non-supervisory experience as described.

PSD offers a variety of programs that serve families from prenatal care and with children 0-5 years of age. PSD’s programs include the Federal Head Start, Early Head Start & Early Head Start – Child Care Partnership, as well as, State Preschool programs throughout SB County. We are committed to ensuring children have a Head Start or jump start on their education. Our services are free and available to qualifying families from low-income backgrounds and include enrollment options for children in foster care, children with special needs, and those who are homeless.
