The Charge RN in the Operating Room (OR) is responsible for the day to day function and overall coordination of patient care. The Charge RN provides leadership by example and works collaboratively with staff members as well as other department staff. He/she reviews and stays abreast of schedule changes, i.e., additions and cancellations, to assure that appropriate number and skill level of staff is available. This individual is tasked with providing for “on call” coverage 24 X 7 as well as coverage for last minute staff call offs and pre-scheduled vacations.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of nursing with a degree, (BSN/MSN preferred)
• Current CA RN License, BLS, ACLS and NIHSS/Stroke Scale certifications.  
• Operating room/circulating nursing experience required.
