If you’re a member of the ANAC, the California affiliate of the American Nurses Association, now’s your chance to become more involved. The organization’s biennial board elections are coming up soon, as is RN Day 2017 in Sacramento.

Lean in to Leadership

The two-year terms of all current members of the ANAC board of directors — including the president, vice president, legislative director, nursing education director and others — come to an end in early May. Elections for the next two-year term will begin on March 20. If you or someone you know may be interested in standing for election, you can learn more about the responsibilities of each position and download the consent-to-serve form at /2017-election. Members can throw their hats in the ring through Tuesday, February 21. Election results will be announced May 7, a day before the new term begins.

RN Day 2017

Even if you aren’t interested in running for a board seat, consider joining the ANAC’s annual RN Day at the state capitol in Sacramento. This year’s event will be held Monday, April 3, and will include meetings with legislators and key legislative committees. It’s a great way to meet your representatives and have your voice heard on matters that affect California RNs. Online registration for the event is now open. To ensure that you have a spot, you should register by Wednesday, March 15, especially if you plan to attend as part of a group.
