Job Description

This individual performs the primary functions of a professional nurse manager in the interpretation, directionand evaluation of nursing practice and the coordination of nursing services through the use of clinical,management and leadership skills.

Is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the nursing unit staffso that high quality patient care will be delivered. This individual is responsible for meeting Joint CommissionStandards and Title 22 requirements.

This individual, as a member of Nursing Administration, is the primaryliaison with his/her staff and is responsible for facilitating the flow and accuracy of information and issuesbetween them.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

• LICENSURE: Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California.
• EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Health Science related field.
• CERTIFICATION: BLS.EXPERIENCE: Three years clinical professional nursing experience, including one year of charge nurseexperience, or one year CN III or IV.

Preferred Qualifications:

• EDUCATION: Master's Degree.
• CERTIFICATION: Certification in specialty area respective to service.
• EXPERIENCE: Previous clinical professional nursing experience in a specialty area.
