Job Description

The Clinical Improvement Specialist is responsible for identifying areas of improvement and promoting change within the healthcare delivery system. Particular attention will focus on designing, implementing and evaluating processes within the clinical environment, distinguishing trends in documentation and practice deficiencies, developing nursing practice standards and maintaining compliance with regulatory mandates.

Clinical Improvement Specialist acts as an advocate/liaison for the nursing profession by supporting and implementing evidence-based and best practices to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Licensure and Certification:

• Current California RN Licensure
• Current BLS Provider Certification
• National Certification in specialized area of nursing as noted:
• Emergency Department: PALS, ACLS, MAB/VIP, NIHSS
• Intensive Care Department: CCRN, ACLS, NIHSS
• Definitive Observation Unit: ACLS, PALS
• Post Anesthesia Care Unit: ACLS, PALS
• Center for Women and Newborns: ACLS, NRP, Advanced-Fetal Monitoring
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: BLS, NRP
• Medical/Surgical Unit: ACLSTelemetry Unit: ACLS, NIHSS
• Perioperative Room Unit: CNOR, PALS, ACLS

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related
• Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred 

Experience:

• 5 years direct patient care experience in area of specialty with an advanced knowledge of nursing practices.
