RN – Emergency Department Clinical Educator – Arcadia
Job Description
The Emergency Department Clinical Educator is an excellent clinician who assists the Adult and Transitional Care leadership team in providing educational support to staff, patients and families. Works in collaboration with the medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care of patients. Utilizing knowledge of educational needs in a healthcare environment and adult learning principles, the Emergency Department Clinical Educator provides for the development of selected core curriculum, program planning and clinical oversight for new and existing staff.
Has instructional responsibilities to improve the quality of care and applies good verbal and non-verbal skills to achieve service goals of good clinical outcomes, customer satisfaction and a positive work environment. Participate in maintaining compliance with the Joint Commission (TJC) and Center for Medicare/Medicaid standards and conditions of participation. Having oversight for clinical practice, thus requires possession of clinical knowledge concerning the applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations to analyze, direct and facilitate nursing care of patients.
Assess and meet the education needs of nursing staff. Responsible for assisting in planning, implementing and evaluating the Emergency Department quality performance improvement programs through departmental and interdepartmental quality improvement and organization wide planning activities. Qualifications
Education Minimum (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Preferred (Not required)
- Master’s degree in nursing preferred
Work Experience Minimum (Required)
- 5 years recent RN experience as an ER Registered Nurse
Licenses and Certifications Minimum (Required)
- A current RN licensure in the State of California is required.
- Must successfully complete and maintain ACLS certification.
- Must successfully complete and maintain BLS certification.
- Must successfully complete and maintain PALS certification.
- Current Management of Assaultive Behavior Certification; can obtain within 6 months of hire/start date. Preferred (Not required)
- Emergency Nurse Certification preferred.
- Critical Care Nursing Certification preferred.
- Mobile Intensive Care Nurse Certification – preferred
