Job Description
Under close/general supervision by licensed personnel the Emergency Department (ED) Technician/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will perform a variety of functions in support and care of patients requiring urgent or emergency care in the Rapid Care or emergency medical setting.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proof of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from an approved institution program or CA Paramedic License
- CA EMT License required.
- Phlebotomy Certified Preferred but not required.
- Paramedic licensed allows phlebotomy in their scope of practice.
- Current BLS Card certification from the American Heart Association
Training and experience:
- Unless otherwise indicated, one year of current experience within the last three years in a comparable job classification required
- Maintenance of current Basic Life Support for HealthCare Workers
- Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations; maintains strict confidentiality of client information
- Complies with Infection Control, Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.
