RN Charge Nurse – Emergency Department – Nights
Job Description
The ER Charge RN provides leadership, organization, as well as Coordinating/Providing nursing care for patients, participation in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.The ER Department performs emergency medical service to individuals from all age groups as needed.
Therefore, the ER Charge Nurse must be competent to provide care to patients in the following age groups: infant, toddler, school-age, teenage, adult, senior, and geriatric. The RN must be able to access developmental needs across the life span and be able to adjust care accordingly to meet physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing with either RN diploma or BSN degree. Possesses a current State RN license.
- Recent health care experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Prefer at least one year experience in emergency room care within the last 18 months.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS & NIHSS Stroke Scale Certifications reqired upon hire.
